STARLINK TO OPERATE IN GHANA With GOVERNMENT LICENSE – URSULA OWUSU

In response to the disruption of internet services in the nation, the government is launching a program to license more satellite internet service providers, as stated by Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu in a meeting with parliament.

She mentioned that Starlink, a multinational satellite internet service provider, is currently obtaining a license to operate in Ghana.

Ursula Owusu, briefing Parliament on internet problems, stated that it will take at least five weeks to repair the broken underwater lines that are causing the outage.

“Starlink is currently obtaining a license. Furthermore, encouragement is given to other operators to land in Ghana. Instead, we should invest in RASCOM (Regional African Satellite Company) operationalization.

Minister of Communications and Digitalization Ursula Owusu told lawmakers in Parliament on Monday that in order to restore phone services, all network operators must plan and implement backup routes.
