AFCON 2021 Qualifiers, Ghana Group Table

The Blackstars of Ghana have started preparations for AFCON 2021 and World Cup 2022 Qualifiers.

The coach of the team, CK Akonnor has invited a 30 man squad for preparations with 2 friendly games lined up.

The Ghana Blackstars will play 2 games in June against Morocco and Ivory Coast to give the coach fair knowledge of the team ahead of the very packed 2nd half of the year.

In September the World Cup qualifiers start against Group G opponents, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.

Remember CK Akonnor already have knowledge about the South African having faced them twice in the AFCON 2021 qualifier, one as assistant coach and the other as head coach.

In the AFCON 2021 qualifiers, Ghana defeated South Africa 2-0 at Cape Coast and drew 1-1 in South Africa.

The senior national team of Ghana finished the qualifiers as group leaders with 13 points, one ahead of Sudan who had 12 points.

South Africa couldn’t qualify for the AFCON with 10 points and languishing last in the group was São Tomé and Principe who had zero.
