Staff of the Mövenpick Hotel lay down tools over racist treatment

The Ghanaian Staff of the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel have laid down their tools in protest of racist treatment.

The Staff of about hundred have pitched camp at the reception room, bringing activities in the hotel to a standstill.

The guests who have been left unattended to have become spectators watching the staff drum and sing war songs.

According to the Ghanaian staff, the management lead by Michael Rathgeb treat them harshly whiles pampering the foreign staff and this has persisted for over 7 years.

Ghanaians are punished and dismissed for minor offense like stealing pens whiles the non-black Staff are left unpunished.

They alleged that one female foreign staff who stole gold bars from a guest still remain a Staff after she was arrested by the Police.
