A video trending on social media has a story attached to it that it’s the former Burkina Faso Minister of Transport Vincent Dabilgou.

A story trending on social media about Vincent Dabilgou, the former Minister of Transport of Burkina Faso has a video attached to it which is catching heat.

The story was posted on social media app X by a South African blog.

 

 

In the post which has both a video and a photo, the blog captioned it;

“Burkina Faso’s former Minister of Transport, Vincent Dabilgou has been sent to the public for a thorough beating after he was found guilty of embezzling €1.7 million and later sentenced to 11 years in prison.“

Replies to the post shows people wishing for same thing to happen to corrupt politicians in their individual countries.

Our checks suggests, the man in the video is not Vincent Dabilgou, Burkina Faso’s former Minister of Transport.

The photo is however Burkina Faso’s former Minister of Transport, Vincent Dabilgou who held the position from 2018 to 2022 when the military coup happened.

This shows that the man in the video and the man in the photo are two different people.

On Vincent Dabilgou, he was found guilty in August 2023 and was sentenced to 11 years in prison after he was found guilty of embezzlement of public funds”, involving 1.12 billion FCFA “illicit enrichment”, “money laundering” and secret financing of a political party.
