My ‘Black Love’ album preaches about love – Sarkodie

Ghana’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie on July 23, 2019, announced on social media that he would be releasing a new album dubbed ‘Black Love’.

He has gone ahead to release one song off the album titled ‘Lucky’ which features Rude Boy of P Square fame.

The cover art of the single raised a heated argument on various radio stations, industry player and social media users as well. Many were of the view that Sarkodie using two black models alleged to be gays on his cover art for ‘Lucky’ is probably promoting the gay agenda.

The SarkCess Music CEO in an interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty revealed the inspiration behind the yet-to-be-released album.

According to Sarkodie, the cover of his album is not suggestive like most critics think because one of the models is a female based in the United States.

“This Album follows a sequence and it’s all to do with creating awareness. The Black Love album is for us the Black People and more or less like we should love ourselves, appreciate ourselves, love our melanin body and love each other generally.”

Black Love album features Stonebwoy, Efya, King Promise, Sista Afia, Mr Eazi and a host of others.

The debut single off the album will be premiered across major radio stations across Africa on July 26, 2019, and made available via digital platforms days after.
