I’m a street boy, not a celebrity – Yaa Pono

Rapper Yaa Pono otherwise known as Solomon Adu Antwi has disclosed that he sees himself as a ‘town boy’ and not a celebrity as many have perceived him to be.

According to the Uptown Energy boss, though he is famous, he won’t allow fame to take away the fact he came from the streets.

Ponobiom who was in Kumasi over the weekend for the VGMA Nominees jam humbly described himself in an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM that he is a “town boy” and not celebrity especially when he is in Kumasi where he kick-started his career.

“Most of my fans in Kumasi didn’t know we could reach this far because we started life from the scratch,” Yaa Porno said.

“Apart from a musician being a celebrity, we are town boys. We are street boys so you must see me not as a celebrity but the people’s person who’s back and to rebase with the people”
