Ghanaian footballer jailed for ɤape in Sweden to be released amidst fresh evidence
Ghanaian footballer Kingsley Sarfo is set to be freed from Sweden prison today.
The 24 year old midfielder was sentenced to over 2 years in prison in 2018 following a rape and defilement accusation by a 14 year old lady.
Following the jail sentence, his contract with Swedish club Malmo FF was terminated.
Fresh evidence has been filed by the legal team of Kingsley Sarfo to the jury handling the case. The evidence is solid enough to cause a change in last year’s judgment.
The player will appear in court today where he will be freed according to the state prosecutors and his legal team.
Contrary to the initial ruling, Kingsley will not be deported to Ghana but will be allowed to continue his career at Malmo FF.
