An outrageous bride price list has dominated social media trends and elicited strong emotional reactions.

As we all know, the man is expected to present the family of the bride with a certain list of carefully chosen items before he is granted the all-clear to marry his girlfriend.

The prices on the bride’s price list were initially reasonable and thoughtful because the majority of families thought they were not selling their kid to the groom.

Yet today, the majority of parents treat it like a cash cow and have even gone as far as to set deadlines for it.

Some families demand over 100,000 cedis solely for the cost of the bride price

But now, most parents see it as a cash cow and have even gone to the extreme of even deadlines for it.

Almost 50 items, including a V8 automobile and a pharmacy, were requested of the man in these viral photos.

The cost of the items on the list is expected to exceed GHC 100,000.

Many social media users who saw the list recommended the man to call off the wedding to prevent himself from voluntarily entering the lion’s den.
