Emmanuel Adebayor has announced his retirement from the Togo national team

Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor has announced his retirement from the Togolese national team.

The decision to bow out from the Hawks of Togo comes after the team failed to qualify for the 2019 AFCON.

On Sunday afternoon, the Hawks of Togo, led by Emmanuel Adebayor lost 2-1 to Benin in the crucial AFCON qualifier.

Adebayor at the age of 35, made 66 appearances for Togo, netting 29 goals for them.

He player now wants to concentrate solely on club football for his Turkish club, Instabul Basaksehir.
