Brave South Africa dump host Egypt out of AFCON 2019

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa pulled a very big upset this evening in the AFCON 2019.

The South Africans defeated 7 time African Champions Egypt on their own soil.

The round of 16 game at the Cairo International Stadium ended in a heartbreak for the local fans as South Africa pipped Egypt by a lone goal.

Thembinkosi Lorch got the only goal of the evening very late in the game.

The Egyptians after going down in the 85th minute looked stunned and confused as they couldn’t find their way back into the game.

The win sends South Africa to the Quarterfinals where they will face Super Eagles of Nigeria who themselves defeated defending champions, Cameroon.
