Yvonne Nelson blasts Kwame Nkrumah for taking loans to construct the Akosombo Dam
Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has taken on his country leaders on their appetite for borrowing.
Taking to Twitter she blasted the country for taking loans to the extent that the Akosombo Dam was built with loans.

It’s quite ironic that a person who lead a crusade against the previous government when the country was facing electricity crisis will turn round and criticize the building on Akosombo Dam, a hydroelectric power Dam which was built to generate electricity for both industrial and domestic use.
The Akosombo Dam built in 1965 is the most significant investment in the economic development of Ghana
To set records straight, the Dam is owned by Ghana though a certain percentage of the funds used for the construction was secured through loans from western corporations.
