Wontumi in trouble as Ibrahim Mahama sues him for defamation; demands GH¢5m
Business man Ibrahim Mahama has filed a defamation suit against Chairman Wontumi.
The Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners is demanding GH¢5m in damages from the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP.
The defamation was triggered by statements made by Wontumi suggesting that Ibrahim Mahama benefited from stolen state funds when his brother John Mahama was the President.
In the court writ the plaintiff quoted words when he said Ibrahim Mahama has acquired a car and a mansion for Hajia4reall from stolen state funds.
“He has bought a car, it is said he has bought a car for Hajia for Real. Then he has bought a house and given it to her in addition, then he has snatched Kenpong’s girl. Because the money that [he has], it was when we just came into power, that his brother went and stole money for him. Do you understand?”
The business man is seeking an unqualified apology and retraction within 7 days.
