“We really need sentencing reforms in this country” – Lawyer Sandra Ankobiah reacts to Poloo’s sentence
Ghanaian lawyer and socialite, Sandra Ankobiah has reacted to the court sentence of Akuapem Poloo.
Akuapem Poloo is to spend 90 days in prison for pleading guilty to 3 count of Publishing of obscene materials, Child pornography, and Domestic violence.
Reacting to the court sentence, lawyer Sandra Ankobiah said the country needs sentencing reforms.

She opines that not all offenses needs prison sentence so the law makers should quickly pass the The Non-Custodial Bill into law.
The non-custodial Bill is ready, but like most Bills, it will take ages to be passed into Law.

The Non-Custodial Bill also known as Alternative Sentence refers to a punishment given by a court of law that does not involve a prison term. Non-Custodial sentence has various forms including community service order, probation order, supervision order (parole), drug testing and treatment order etc.
