Video: The Catholic Church said no when I wanted to give my children African names – Former President Rawlings
Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings has spoken on how the west keep whitewashing the identity of Africa.
A video of his interview with one American media house has surfaced on the internet.
Though the video isn’t new, the fire the former President of Ghana was spitting on how Africa is being forced to Westernized instead of modernizing, has got the video trending on social media.

JJ Rawlings even touched on his personal experience where the Catholic Church he fellowship objected his decision to name his children African names.
“When I wanted to even name my children African names, heroic names. I’m a catholic, the Catholic Church or that character back at home said no, I can not, they have to be Catholic names” – Rawlings Said
The former President said he went through ab argument with the church telling them the Catholic names are European names and that he prefers African names for his children.

Rawlings talked about other things. One day he went to the Registra General in Ghana for a patent to his wife’s beautifully crafted African X’mas card only to be told that England have to approve it before her wife can reproduce them.
