Video: People have no food to eat but it hasn’t stopped us from building schools – Majority Leader Justifies $250m Parliament Chamber

The Majority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has justified Government’s decision to build a new parliamentary chamber.

The decision to build the $250m worth Chamber has been met with serious protest on social media.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu seems unperturbed by the public protest against the building of the new chamber.

Speaking on GhOne Television, the Member of Parliament for Suame said, the fact that the nation is yet to meet all basis human needs doesn’t stop us from investing in such projects.

Explaining his point, he said the basic human needs are food, clothing and shelter. Not everyone in the nation has satisfy these needs but it hasn’t stopped us from building schools and roads.

He added that even in an advanced country like USA, they needn’t meet all their basic human needs before building beautiful monuments.
