Video: “My agent almost cried, I looked hapless” – Sam George recounts tensed mood during ballot counting
Member of Parliament of Ningo Prampram constituency Sam George has recounted what he went through during last weekend’s NDC Parliamentary Primaries.
Hon. Sam George came out as victor in the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries at the Ningo Prampram constituency with a narrow majority.
He pulled 407 votes, only 7 ahead of his competitor who had 400 votes out of the valid vote.
Speaking on Power Fm, Sam George said he almost lost hope during the counting of the ballot papers especially when he counted 384 ballot papers during the sorting out.
He added that his agent was about crying when 70 successive ballot papers went to the opponent during the sorting out.
Like the saying goes, it’s not over until it’s over, there were some ballot papers which were overlooked during the sorting out
Shivers were down his spines when the Electoral Commission Officer was about turning those overlooked papers but thankfully they all turned out to be valid votes casted in his favor.
