Driving for a living is a stereotyped men’s job in Ghana as few women have taken to driving.
Talk of Taxis, Trotro, Inter City Buses, Uber etc all the drivers of these commuting services are predominately men.
One woman, Christiana Larbi has proven to be an exception to the rule. The lady has taken to driving Uber for a living.
Christiana Larbi, a banker for 10 years lost her job at Capital Bank after the Bank was declared insolvent by the Bank of Ghana in 2018.
With a 7 year old daughter to cater for, Christiana Larbi decided to make nonsense of the stereotype and took to driving for a living.
According to the female Uber driver, ladies tend to like her when they order for her service but the men seems not to trust a female driver with their lives.
