The owner of the defunct capital bank Ato Essien has begun an attempt to save his image from Ghana the banking crisis.
His bank, Capital Bank was declared insolvent by the Bank of Ghana in their attempt to clean off mess from the nation’s financial sector.
Investigations into their dealings made it known that he used GH¢610 given to him by Bank Of Ghana to save his ailing bank to open another bank.

Almost a year after going silent, Ato Essien has finally broken his silence in a long interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana.
On the show he revealed that in the year 2016, Ken Ofori-Atta and his partner Gadzekpo came to him with an offer to acquire his bank.
According to Ato Essien, the current Finance Minister wouldn’t have come to him with an offer to buy his bank if indeed the bank wasn’t performing well.
