The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo was one of the male dignitaries invited to the Women Deliver 2019 Conference in Vancouver.
When a question of political leaders not doing enough to champions the cause of women in society was posed to Akufo-Addo, the women in the auditorium weren’t enthused with his answer.
Alaa Murabit, disagreed with Akufo-Add. She said, there are a lot of women and organizations doing well in Ghana and the President has to look for them and see what they are doing.
She urged the President not to even empower them but rather use his position to amplify their works thus encouraging others to follow their deeds.
Alaa Murabit then said she wants to have a dinner with the President for a more detailed discussion.
