The seven Zongo boys killed by the Police in Manso-Nkwanta were not armed robbers – Committee Report
The Fact-Finding Committee instituted by the Government to investigate the killing of the then alleged armed robbers has finally come out with their report.
Once upon a time in July the Ashanti Region Police launched an attack to haunt some alleged armed robbers and ended up killing seven youths in Manso-Nkwanta.
The killing incensed the Zongo Youths of the community to riot against the Police claiming the murdered guys are not armed robbers.
They called for an independent investigations into the killing insinuating, the police did that to cover up.
The government heeded to the plea and instituted a Fact-Finding Committee chaired by High Court judge Justice Obeng Diawo.
The Ministry of Information has released the report of the committee.
According to the committee there were no facts before the committee to establish that the deceased were armed robbers.
The 21 police personnels involved in the act have been are to be interdicted.
