The 2nd February Dubai trial date for NAM1 was an error – Police PRO
Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu has indicated that the Press Statement, issued by the Ghana Police on the date of Nana Appiah Mensah’s court appearance in Dubai is a typo.
The Police PRO says the ‘February 2nd’ date indicated in the Press Release he himself signed is likely a typing error.
The Police issued a statement last week on the current situation of Nana Appiah Mensah and they did stated that the C.E.O of MenzGold will be standing trial at a court in Dubai for a misdemeanor charge on the 2nd of February.

Checks done by some members of the public revealed that the said date is Saturday and courts in Dubai operates only from Sunday to Thursday.
The Police PR in a U-turn told Starr Fm that the date they communicated is probably a typing error.
“We understand February 2 is a weekend….I am not too sure about the situation in Dubai. In certain cases, the court may hold a sitting on weekend. But that does not negate the fact that he will be going to court in February,” ACP Eklu said on Starr FM.
“In typing on the calendar, you can even get the date wrong. You might think that Friday is February 2. So to me, it is not a significant thing. It can be a typo error, it can be an error, and it can be true that the court has the arrangement to sit on Saturday,” he added.
Nana Appiah Mensah is a wanted man in Ghana for the charge, Defrauding by false pretense.
He is currently behind bars in Dubai, having been arrested in the UAE city for another fraud case.
