Sex for Grades: Lecturers In West African Universities Implicated In BBC exposé

A secret filming by some female journalists with the BBC in some top universities in West Africa has brought to daylight many lectures who have been sleeping with their students for grades.

The investigation titled ‘Sex For Grades’ focuses on two universities thus University of Ghana and University of Lagos, in Ghana and Nigeria respectively.

Over the years there have been several allegations in our tertiary institutions about lecturers who instead of assessing the adecamic performance of students end up trading grades for sex.

Although students, especially those who have been a victim of such incident know lecturers who engage in these practices they hardly ‘name and shame’ them for reasons best known to them.

But BBC reporter, Kiki Mordi, went undercover into the reputable tertiary institutions to find out the actual situation on the ground.
