Police locked me after I refused to admit my daughter wasn’t pregnant – Mother of Josephine, fake kidnapping suspect
Two witnesses in the infamous Takoradi fake kidnapping saga were crossed examined at the court today.
At the Takoradi Circuit Court A, the witnesses the mother and the husband of the suspect Josephine Mensah were crossed examined by the counsel of the suspect lawyer Fiifi Buckman.
The mother during the cross examination revealed that the police locked her up for a day when she refused to agree to the medics report that her daughter wasn’t pregnant.
“I was asked to agree with what the medics have said that my daughter was not pregnant, but I couldn’t do that, so I was locked up for a day”. – Agnes Essel said
She also talked about how she wasn’t allowed to stay with her daughter after traveling from Takoradi to Axim when she was found following her disappearance.
“she could not speak, but only signed and she was in handcuffs at Axim and after our transfer to Effia Nkwanta Hospital, I was not allowed to stay with her”
The husband at the court also revealed that he saw the physical belly of his wife from the 1sr month of pregnancy to the 10th month.
“I saw my wife naked while pregnant between five and six months and even to the tenth month when she moved to join the mother at old John Sarbah road to await her safe delivery”. – Michael Simons said
