Photos: GFA facilitated the release of Awal Suleman, the famous pitch invader
Awal, the student nurse who invaded the pitch of Cape Cape Stadium during Ghana’s win over South Africa has released by Police.
The young man was detained by the Police when he was apprehended for invading the pitch during the game.
He was subsequently arraigned before court with the charges of unlawful entry and offensive character.
After a protest the on social media and a plea from Blackstars captain Andre Ayew, Awal the pitch invader released.
The Ghana Football Association played a role to get Awal Suleman released. The Central Region Chairman of Football, Robert Duncan represented the GFA to assist in facilitating his bail.

After the bail process was done, Robert Duncan and Awal Suleman posed infront of the Ghana Police Service Station at the University of Cape Coast campus.
