Olympic Games: How The Streets Of Bukom Celebrated Samuel Takyi’s Win At 3am (Video)

The people of Bukom in Accra poured out on the streets to celebrate the Samuel Takyi’s victory at the Olympic Games.

The 20-year-old native of Bukom ended Ghana’s medal drought the Olympics after defeating Colombian Ceiber Avila in the Men’s Feather (52-57kg) to get to the semifinals.

Getting to the semifinals guarantees him a medal even if he loses because per the Olympics rule, losing semifinalists her Bronze Medal.

At 3am in Ghana, the people of Bukom stayed glued to their TV sets to watch the bout.

 

 

After Samuel Takyi was declared winner, they poured out on the streets to celebrate in a typical Bukom style.
