A Nigerian man has been busted at the Kotoka International Airport with 656 ATM cards.
The man though was traveling with a Niger passport confessed that he is a Nigerian.
Bachir Musa Aminou concealed the ATM cards in a black plastic bag containing kola nuts which was bound for Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) formerly known as BNI effected the arrest at the Kotoka International Airport on September 12, 2021.
The man first arrived in Ghana on April 29, 2020 and left for UAE on May 26, 2020 through Ethiopia only to return on August 20, 2021.
The ATM cards are connected to one Ghanaian owned bank and 8 Nigerian owned banks in Ghana.
Aside the ATM cards, he has $12,000 and a list of the various PIN numbers of some of the ATM cards.
ATM fraud has been bewitching the Ghana financial sector as $8.19 million was lost in the year 2020 through ATM/POS related fraud.
