NDC vigilantes attack and injure their party own Chairman over vehicle

A section of the NDC vigilante group in the Ashanti Region have visited violence on the Suame Constituency Chairman leaving him with severe injuries.

The violence was meted on him after refusing to return a vehicle belonging to the party after a court ordered him to step down from his position following a litigation.

A court in Kumasi ordered chairman Umar to relinquish his chairmanship position pending the conclusion of a case filed against him.

His victory is being challenged by one Ibrahim Yakubu who claim Saeed Umar isn’t a registered member of the Suame Constituency hence does not qualify to lead the party in the constituency.

The group that attacked him has been pressing him to return every party property in his possession but he has turned a deaf ear to their demand.

The armed group pounced on him during a meeting between Chairpersons and delegates from Suame and Tafo constituencies and NDC presidential aspirant Sylvester Mensah.

Saeed Umar who was subjected to severe beating sustained injuries and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The Suame Divisional police command has commenced investigations into the case.
