Missing Curtis Newkirk Found Dead Off Jacksonville Beach in Florida

The 19-year-old Curtis Newkirk Jr. was found Wednesday at Jacksonville Beach about 100 yards offshore, according to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

Local neighbor Rob Street claimed that on Wednesday, while on his balcony, he noticed something being tossed around by the waves.

Around 10:24 a.m., Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced the teenager deceased.

When Newkirk went swimming in the ocean at Jacksonville Beach, to the south of the Jacksonville Beach Pier, on Sunday morning, he was reported missing.
