Martin Alamisi Amidu has returned all sitting allowances paid to him since he was appointed as the Special Prosecutor in 2018.
The former Special Prosecutor, directed his accountant on Monday November 17, 2020 to return the sum of GHS 12,696.
A document sighted by Citi News indicates what the total amount was from 6 meetings which took place between December 2018 and May 2020.
On December 21, 2018 he was presented with a cheque of GHS 5,560 as August to December 2018 board allowances.
Citizen Vigilante as he’s affectionately called was paid GHS 1,440 each for four other board meetings.
On May 21, 2020, he was paid GHS 1,376 for sitting in an entity tender committee meeting as allowance.
The reason Martin Amidu has decided to return the money is he holds the view that the board meetings were part of his official work and saw no reason for taking a separate money for that.
