Lindsay Krause Injured in a Hit and Run Car Accident

Volleyball outside hitter Lindsay Krause didn’t play Sunday in the Huskers’ win against Kentucky after suffering an upper-body injury in a hit-and-run car accident.

Nebraska coach John Cook said Krause, a junior from Papillion, was rear-ended on O Street in Lincoln “in the middle of the day” Wednesday. The other driver fled the scene, Cook said.

Krause wasn’t able to practice at all during the week and then went through about 10 minutes of drills on Sunday. She is not expected to miss an extended period of time.

Cook aired his frustration Sunday night.

“I said on the (postgame radio show), I hope the mayor hears this and the chief of police, they hear this,” Cook said.

“What’s so frustrating is, I drive on O Street and there’s several times I’ve wanted to call 911 just because of the crazy drivers and how they just abuse O Street and speed up and down. I was on O Street that day too because we were off that day — I think I went to Whole Foods and she was right by Chick-fil-A. And some dude came flying and smacked her and took off.
