Leola Howell Wright Obituary, Visitation and Funeral Detials

We announce the passing of our devoted mother, Leola Howell Wright, who died quietly in her sleep early on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the age of 103, with sadness. The Fields Store Cemetery, which is close to Waller, Texas, will host graveside services on June 17 at 11:00 AM.

She is survived by her son Keith Wright, daughter Angie Wright (Bob), and brother Scott Howell (Charlotte). Her husband Martin Wright, daughter Lola Sherar, son-in-law James Sherar, and grandson Stephen Sherar all passed away before her.

Leola graduated from Waller High School in 1937 after spending her childhood on a cattle ranch close to Waller, Texas, where she also met Martin Wright, a math instructor who would become her future spouse of 50 years.

Leolat lived in Houston and devotedly attended the First Methodist Church. Typist was her first position after relocating to Houston. She was a talented pianist who had played for high school formals. She started giving piano lessons out of her Willow Bend, Houston, home after the birth of her three kids. However, taking care of her five children was always Job No. 1 for her.

Her love of music was her greatest gift to her kids.
