It is a disgrace to give 50 cedis or less as offertory in church- Prophet Kumchacha

Prophet Kumchacha, the self-declared PRO for all God-fearing men and women in Ghana, has weighed in on Angel Obinim’s “I will not take 10 cedis or less as offertory” declaration.

Prophet Kumchacha added his two cents to the debate, saying that it is shameful for churchgoers to make an offertory of 50 cedis or less.

Prophet Kumchacha said in an interview with Hitz FM that since the cost of things has increased dramatically, the amount offered as an offer should also increase.

Prophet Kumchacha observed that most people travel to their churches for roughly 10 cedis, thus he does not see why they should make an offertory of less than 50 cedis.

It is accurate what Bishop Obinim stated. Goods and services are now more expensive. Even the cost of transportation to the church exceeds five to ten cedis. But you pay 2 cedis, 5 cedis, and 10 cedis during the offertory?” he asked.

When inquired about the acceptable amount, Kumchacha responded, “GH¢50 and above is okay.” He went on, “But you can’t go to church, sit in an air-conditioned auditorium with your iPhone 15 and iPhone 17, and then you drop five cedis when it’s offertory time? What a shame that is! You ought to stay at home and sit.
