Ike Hines Passes Away, Obituary, Former Cleveland Police Chief,
We share the sad news of Ike Hines’ demise, the former chief of the Cleveland Police Department, with sorrowful hearts.
The most seasoned and longest-serving Cleveland Police Commissioner, Hines retired in late 2008 after spending 32 years of his life serving in the police department, including 17 years as police chief. Many people who knew Hines are shocked by his sudden death.
Hines’ successor as police chief in 2012, Chief Darrell Broussard, praised him and said that in addition to being a great manager, he was also a devout Christian. Hines was crucial to Broussard’s education and growth, and the two enjoyed a deep bond that went beyond the office.
Many people will recall Hines as a committed and well-liked police chief. His kin, friends, and coworkers will miss him dearly.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family and friends, who have been struggling with the loss of such an intelligent and compassionate individual.
