I lost contracts because of how cruel Akwesi Appiah treated me at AFCON 2019 – clubless Asamoah Gyan

Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the senior national team of Ghana has lamented on the cruel treatment he received from the coach of Blackstars.

Speaking on Asempa Fm morning show, he said the limited playing time he had at AFCON 2019 has caused him contracts from potential suitors.

According to Asamoah Gyan following his good end of season at Kayserispor where he scored 3 goals in 4 games, some clubs expressed interest in signing him.

The clubs told his agent that they will make their interest concrete base on how he will perform at the AFCON 2019.

Gyan went to the AFCON but Akwesi Appiah benched and only subbed him on very late in two games where the time was limited to make any impact.

Asamoah Gyan says he felts harshly treated because Akwesi Appiah isn’t just a coach to him but a very close friend as they have a father-son relationship.

Anamoah Gyan is now without a club after his contract with Kayserispor ended in July. Few weeks to the end of the European transfer window and no club has yet expressed interest in signing him.
