Andre Ayew will make history at next year’s African Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
Captain of Ghana Black Stars is likely to become the most capped player in the history of the AFCON come next year.
Having helped Ghana to qualify to the biggest sporting competition in the African continent, Ghana is guaranteed at least three games, in the group stages.
Andre Ayew with 34 caps is currently the 2nd player with the most games at the African Cup of Nations and will need just 3 games to overtake the current record holder, Rogibert Song of Cameroon.
The current head coach of Cameroon played 36 games at the AFCON and Andre Ayew will need 3 games to overtake him to set a new record.
The Ivory Coast AFCON is scheduled for January 13, 2024 to February 11, 2024 and all other things being equal, Andre Ayew will captain the senior national team of Ghana to the neighboring country with the aim winning the country’s 5th AFCON trophy.
