Hawa Koomson approved as Minister of Fisheries after getting the highest vote in Parliament today

Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has gotten the Parliamentary Approval to serve as the Minister of Fisheries.

Following her vetting and subsequent recommendation from the Minority group seeking her rejection, Parliament had to vote on her.

The Parliament of Ghana meet at dawn to vote on three Ministerial nominees, Hawa Koomson, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

After the voting, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson got 161 Yes votes and 104 No vote.

Information Minister designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah got 155 Yes votes with Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto getting 143 Yes vote.

All other things being equal, the three will be sworn in as Ministers very soon.
