Government will not announce lockdown; Don’t panic – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has debunked rumors on an imminent lockdown in Ghana.

There are rumors flying round that the government of Ghana will be announcing a total lockdown in Ghana over the spread of coronavirus.

This has heightened fears amongst Ghanaians as many are trooping into the central markets to do panic buying to store food and other essentials.

Debunking the rumor, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the President will be addressing the country in the evening of Saturday, 21, March 2020.

In a tweet on his official page explained that though the President will be addressing the nation on updated measures against the spread of coronavirus, “he will not be announcing a lockdown so don’t panic.”
