Goodnews; Court withdraws bench warrant for arrest of Power Fm’s Oheneba Boamah
The bench warrant for the arrest of Power FM broadcaster Oheneba Boamah Bennie over his contempt of court case has been quashed.
Yesterday the Deputy Attorney General of Ghana Godfred Dame secured a bench warrant from the Highcourt for the arrest of Oheneba Boamah Bennie over a contempt of court case.
The Power FM broadcaster was accused of undermining the Judiciary with comments alleging that the President of Ghana Akufo-Addo has compromised the Supreme Court to rule in his favour incase the major opposition party seek redress at the law court over their stolen verdict claims.
Lawyers of the accused Francis Sosu and Victor Adawudu initiated an appeal process and made a genuine case that Doctors of their client had given him an excuse duty after he fell ill about a week ago.
Justice Elfreda Amy Dankyi the presiding judge of the case bought their argument and withdrew the bench warrant.
The case has been adjourned to Thursday January 14, 2021.
