After a valiant fight with Parkinson’s disease, Anthony “Tony” Cavallo Sr., 71, of Plainville, passed away quietly with family by his side on June 13, 2022.
Anthony was born on June 15, 1950, to the late Americo and Teresa (Dorio) Cavallo Sr. in New Britain, Connecticut.
In 1969, Anthony graduated from Pulaski High School, where he also met Teresa (DeFeo) Cavallo, the love of his life.
Tony Cavallo (also known as Mr. Cavallo to his students) began a 45-year career as a teacher in the New Britain school district after receiving his Master’s in Education from CCSU.
He was a well-liked addition to all ten primary schools as a teacher, assistant to the principal, and even a substitute following his retirement in 2009. He was well-known for his enthusiasm and charm.
Thousands of kids’ lives were influenced by him over his career, and for his dedication to education, he received numerous awards, including Teacher of the Year.
A loving husband, father, and proud Poppie to his grandchildren, Anthony was also.
He was always the first to step in to assist any of his children or grandchildren who needed anything.
He loved going on holidays with his wife, watching game shows and classic TV series in his recliner, and hanging out with friends and family.
He loved dogs and always had snacks or leftovers from the meal for his great puppies, Albert, Ghost, Lemmy, and Storm.
