Ghanaian Footballer, Ben Acheampong has been sentenced to three years in Egypt for failing to pay an agent a commission for facilitating his transfer to Zamalek.
The three years sentence isn’t the only punishment meted on him as he’s been given a fine of $570.
The court has ordered the former Asante Kotoko player to pay the agent, Wael Al-Kharbtawi $23,000.
The plaintiff sued Ben Acheampong in January with the accusation of failure to pay him $23000 for securing him a contract to Zamalek two years ago as agreed by both parties.
The agent argued in court that he’s tried everything possible to settle the issue with the player but his efforts have proven unsuccessful.
Ben Acheampong currently plays for Al Shamani in Qatar and therefore couldn’t make an appearance in the Egyptian court.
After the ruling, the agent is set to send copies of the court decision to the Qatar embassy in Egypt.
