Ghana Blackstars and Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Afriyie dead
Ghanaian football legend Opoku Afriyie has passed on to glory at the age of 75.
The legendary striker died on Sunday 29, March 2020 in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
Opoku Afriyie in his active days was a beast of a striker for Asante Kotoko and Ghana Blackstars.
He earned the name ‘Beyie’ translates to English as wizard for his goal scoring prowess.
In the year 1979, he scored both goals as Ghana Blackstars defeated Uganda 2-0 to lift the African Cup of Nations.
