Female prisoner rescued by Christian Atsu dies
Madam Theresa Amankwah, an inmate of the Nsawam Prison who was rescued by Newcastle United player, Christian Atsu has died at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital.
She died whiles receiving treatment at the hospital financed by Astu through the Crime Check Foundation.
The woman before the intervention of Ibrahim Kwarteng of Crime Check Foundation was serving a 10year sentence for selling Indian hemp.

While alive she told Ibrahim that poverty led her to trade in the illegal substance as she needed money to feed herself, children and grandchildren.
Whiles in prison she was hit by a serious sickness and Atsu from Crime Check Foundation financed her treatment at Korle-bu where she underwent surgery.
The surgery proved successful after which she was put on dialysis but shortly after this she passed away.
According to Ibrahim Kwarteng the family deceased inmate says they want the Prison Service to bury her as they can’t mobilize funds to transport their relative back home.
