It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved founder, Ian McLaren.

His gentle nature, kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering love for skiing have left an indelible mark on all of us.

We will forever carry his spirit in our hearts as we strive to continue the legacy he has built.

Ian McLaren’s passion for skiing was unparalleled. He dedicated his life to creating an environment where people could come together, indulge in their love for the slopes, and forge lasting memories. Since 1996 in Sun Peaks, and even before that in Kamloops, Ian tirelessly worked to bring joy to the lives of countless skiers and snow enthusiasts.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey since the beginning. Without your unwavering support, none of this would have been possible.

Your trust, loyalty, and friendship have meant the world to Ian, and now it means the world to us as we honor his memory and cherish the legacy he left behind.

As we navigate through this difficult time, we find solace in knowing that Ian would want nothing more than for us to continue doing what we love most – skiing, golfing, and even enjoying the occasional wee dram. It is by following in his footsteps that we can keep his spirit alive and help others experience the same joy and happiness that he brought to all of us.

Looking ahead, we are filled with anticipation for the upcoming ski season here at Sun Peaks.

We are excited to welcome old friends and new faces alike as we gather around the shop, sharing stories, laughter, and the thrill of conquering the mountain together. Ian’s presence may be missed, but his legacy will forever guide us forward.
