Ex Convict who was denied SHS admission by 3 schools finally gets admission

Abu Sufiano Yahaya, the Ex Convict who was denied admission at 3 schools have finally been admitted.

The young man was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2016 for snatching a woman’s bag in Kumasi.

While in prison, he sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and passed with aggregate 16.

After passing the BECE luck smiled at him and he won his appeal leading to his release from prison.

His dream is to become a nurse but all 3 secondary schools he was posted to, denied him admission when they got to know he’s an ex convict.

After taking his ordeal to the Crime Check Foundation, one of the schools who initially denied him admission has called to offer him admission.

The school is Awe Senior High School in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
