#DropThatChamber: Not Everyone Is Happy About The Decision To Build A New Chamber For Members of Parliament

Not everyone is happy about the decision to build a new chamber for Members of Parliament. One of such people is Citi FM’s Nana Ama Agyemang Asante. She looked at how the Government can afford a new chamber worth 200 million dollars but can’t provide schools with computers and incubators for hospitals.

This is the result of the hashtag Drop That Chamber.

Most people do not see the need for a new chamber and according to Nana Ama Agyemang, these members of parliament come from communities with no schools, hospitals or factories.

She writes, ‘The government of Ghana cannot afford to put incubators in every hospital, provide schools with computers but it has money to build a new chamber for MPs who come from communities with no schools/hospitals/courts/factories. Isn’t this hatred? We need to make them.’
