Driver Of Ebony Reigns Remanded Into Prison Custody By Court 3 Years After The Accɨdent
The driver of the car in the infamous Ebony Reign accident has been remanded in police custody.
Ikoh Pinehas Chartey pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned before court and he pleaded not guilty to the charges of dangerous driving and driving without a license.
3 years after the accident which claimed the lives of Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng Ebony, Franklina Maame Yaa Nkansah and Lance Corporal Vondee Atsu Francis, the driver has been remanded by judge Johnson Abbey.
The accused is expected to reappear before the Nkawie Circuit Court on March 24, 2021.
State Prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Jonas Newlove Agyei told the court that the driver’s decision to swerve a heap of sand on his lane caused the accident.
He added that the driver was driving without a valid license as his license had already expired in 2015.
