Ghanaian media personality Bridget Oto’o thrashed out the influence celebrity endorsements have on election.
NPP fans jubilation over Sarkodie and Samini’s endorsement of Akufo-Addo’s 2nd term bid triggered Bridget Otoo to come out with thesis on how celebrity endorsement is based on money they get paid and not research into party policies.
“CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENTS in Ghana’
Celebrities – are influential but their endorsements aren’t based on a proper research or interrogation of party policies or manifestos, nor is it based on party based on ideals and principles. It is simply put ‘MONEY MOVES’” – She tweeted
According to the former TV3 broadcaster, celebrities like Sarkodie and Samini endorse political parties for money and not nothing else.
She urged fans of these celebrities to ignore them and not vote for parties just because their idols have endorsed them.
“Go out and vote for a candidate who best addresses your needs or has the best policies But it should never be based on a celebrity endorsements. People whose interests are tied to how much they are paid! (700000)
They are no different from the politicians you describe as corrupt” – Bridget Otoo
