12 years after leaving the Premier League giants to Real Madrid and then Juventus, he is set to return home.
Manchester United have leapfrogged their city rivals, Manchester City as the favorite to sign the Portuguese attacker.
According to Football transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are completely out of the race to sign Ronaldo.
Manchester United have become the sole club interested in signing Ronaldo from United and the player has given them the go-ahead to negotiate contract terms with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
Should Manchester United reach an agreement with Juventus, Ronaldo will sign a 2 year deal with the Red Devils.
