Crash involving two VIP Buses leaves two dead
Two VIP Buses got involved in an accident on the Asiakwa – Kyebi road in the Eastern Region.
The accident has left two people dead with others injured.
According to Joynew, the two buses who were headed from Accra – Kumasi – Accra crashed when they attempted an overtaking.
The Police MTTD confirmed that driver of one of the buses and a passenger died from the crash.
DSP Henry Agyemang, the Kyebi MTTD Commander, the main Bunso – Apedwa stretch of the Accra – Kumasi highway was closed to traffic on Wednesday morning following accident in the evening of Tuesday involving a petrol tanker and an Opel Cardet at Asiakwa Junction which blocked the main road.
On this new accident, the MTTD Commander said one of the VIP bus drivers who performed the first overtaking manoeuvre saw a sprinter bus coming from the Kumasi stretch and veered off the road to prevent a head-on collision but the second driver did not see the incoming vehicle on time.
