Charles Byrd died in Easley shooting, Chandler Smith arrested

According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, a 20-year-old is accused of killing his stepfather in South Carolina and has been charged with murder.

According to deputies, the incident took place in Easley on Thursday night along Jericho Ridge Trail.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a guy with gunshot wounds who was subsequently determined to be Charles Byrd, age 55.

According to deputies, Byrd died at the scene.
